Documentary buyers
For documentary buyers
Buy or license documentaries from Next Step Studios. Talk to the rights holder directly, agree terms title by title, and choose the version that fits your channel.
Talk to the rights holder directly
For the documentaries Next Step produces itself, the rights are with us. Buyers deal with the owner of the work and agree terms title by title: which channels, which territories and for how long.
Routes we are building
Studios is building its own distribution routes, aiming to take stories to free TV, pay TV, streaming, free ad-supported streaming channels (FAST), and Doxzilla, our documentary streaming service.
The direction we are building
We aim to become a documentary producer and distributor for Southeast Asia, starting with Thai wildlife and nature documentaries and widening to the region's stories. We are building a rights library from Southeast Asia to offer to buyers inside and outside the region, and we intend to bring in work from other Southeast Asian producers, distributed alongside our own.
One long film, many versions
We start mostly with a full-length documentary. A long film lasts, and can be licensed again and again across many channels. Once we have it, we cut it into versions, all from the same source.
- Broadcast version for television channels and streaming services
- Airline version for inflight entertainment, see our Inflight page
- Social version short pieces that bring viewers back to the full film
- Learning module for the classroom, see Doxzilla Learning
A buyer or co-producer gets one story that works in many places, with the rights held in one place.
Documentaries for airlines
If your airline already has a CSP, our documentaries can reach your inflight system through it. Studios licenses programmes to your existing CSP, so you change nothing about how content arrives.
If you would like documentaries made to your own brief, such as the story of a destination on your network, Next Step CSP commissions them from Studios.
